NetEase deployed Marvel Rivals Version 20260917 on September 17, 2026 at 09:00 UTC — six days into Season 10's competitive reset and the Godbomb saga. This is a small, focused patch: one balance change (Scarlet Witch), one lore drop for Moon Knight, two limited events built around Jeff the Land Shark, four cosmetic bundles and five bug fixes. Here is everything shipped, exactly as it lands in the client — no summaries, no missed lines.
Source and deployment window
The client version rolled out at 09:00 UTC on September 17. Downtime was under an hour on all platforms — PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Full official notes: marvelrivals.com — Version 20260917 Patch Notes.

Balance change — the only hero touched
Scarlet Witch (Duelist)
- Reality Erasure (Ultimate) — "Significantly reduced the probability of Scarlet Witch being immune to incoming damage during the ultimate wind-up." Before this patch, a hidden immunity roll on the wind-up frames let her survive point-blank Ivy, Punisher Ult and Hulk Thunderclap chains far more often than the ability tooltip suggested. Post-patch, the immunity procs on a small minority of casts rather than most of them.
Ranked impact. Scarlet Witch was one of the strongest Duelists of Season 10 opening week because Reality Erasure could delete a full backline while eating the Punisher/Ivy answer. This nerf does not remove her from the meta — the ult still one-shots on hit — but it makes coordinated counter-ults viable again. Expect a small drop in pick rate at Grandmaster and Celestial and a return of Namor and Star-Lord as backline delete alternatives.
No other hero received a stat change in this patch. Gorr, Hela, The Thing, Emma Frost, Ultron and Blade all keep their September 11 numbers.
New content — story and events
Moon Knight lore drop: "New Moon Rising"
A new story chapter titled "New Moon Rising" was added to Moon Knight's in-game lore panel. No gameplay changes are attached — the addition is purely narrative, framing Moon Knight's role in the Godbomb arc that opened Season 10 on September 11.
Jeff's Dream Eater (September 17 — October 15)
- Complete themed challenges to earn a free costume: Venom "President Ozzy".
- The event runs for four weeks — challenge slots refresh weekly.
Jeff's Superstar Search (September 17 — October 9)
- Collect in-game stars via daily objectives to unlock sprays, titles and nameplates.
- Reward track is fully free and account-bound.
Store — bundles and cosmetics that went live
Moon Knight "Eternity Knight" bundle
Premium bundle for Moon Knight, tied to the "New Moon Rising" story. Includes the Eternity Knight costume plus matching MVP animation, emote and spray.
Jeff the Land Shark "Ducky Dip" (Gwenpool variant)
Skin variant of the previously released Ducky Dip costume — this one dresses Jeff as Gwenpool. Sold separately from the base Ducky Dip.
X-Men '97 Season 2 MVPs — Rogue & Gambit
The two X-Men '97 MVP animations were distributed free of charge to players who owned any qualifying costume from the X-Men '97 Season 1 event. No re-purchase required — the animations appear in the cosmetic tabs the next time the client is launched.
Bug fixes — every entry
- Deadpool — Fixed a Team-Up switching issue that occurred in Clone Rumble mode.
- Jeff the Land Shark — Fixed a texture issue on the Ducky Dip emote.
- Peni Parker — Restored visual consistency on the Liquid Shell costume.
- Doctor Strange — Corrected the dental texture on the Astral Arcana costume.
- Emma Frost — Fixed the Psychic Spear sound effects on the Glittering Goddess costume.
What did NOT change
- No changes to Godbomb map, Klyntar or any Season 10 map rotation.
- No changes to any Team-Up bonuses or Team-Up unlock conditions.
- No changes to competitive rank thresholds, RS gain/loss or the Chrono Shield.
- No changes to Proficiency levels, Lord icons or the Grandmaster/Lord grind cost.
- No new hero — the next hero release remains slated for the Season 10 mid-season update.
What this means for ranked climbers
If you have been playing Scarlet Witch in ranked, expect defensive ults to be pre-fired more aggressively into your Reality Erasure this week. Adjust your ult windows: cast from off-angles, not from the front line, and pre-communicate with a Cloak & Dagger or a Luna Snow to burn the enemy's Suzu-equivalent before your wind-up frames start.
If you are one of the players who dropped rank last week trying to chase a counter to Scarlet Witch, the ceiling is lower now — Namor and Star-Lord regain their pre-Season 10 value, and Punisher's Ivy chain is finally reliable through her ult. Solo queuing back up is a real option again, but if you want to skip the volatility of the first two weeks of a competitive reset, our Marvel Rivals rank boost quotes a real per-division price and pairs you with a booster who mains the counter-ult picks.
Next patch window
NetEase's Season 10 cadence has been a small hotfix every seven to ten days plus a larger balance pass at the mid-season point. Expect the next balance patch around September 24 to 26, with the mid-season content update (new hero, new map rotation, battle pass second half) landing in the second half of October.
