You have eleven days left. Marvel Rivals Season 9.5 closes on September 11, 2026 at 09:00 UTC, the moment Season 10 takes over. At that exact point your ranked rewards are locked in and your rank gets wiped by the reset. NetEase spelled out the rules in two official dev posts: Dev Talk Vol.10 on seasonal rank adjustment and Dev Talk Vol.12 on seasonal rewards. Here is what they actually say, and what you should do before the deadline.
The short version
Three things matter. First, your reward is calculated from the highest rank you reach during the half-season — hit Gold once and the costume is yours, even if you fall back afterwards. Second, you must have played at least 10 Competitive matches in that half-season, or you get nothing regardless of rank. Third, the Season 10 reset will knock you down six divisions, which is two full tiers, under the standing rule the developers announced.
Every Season 9.5 ranked reward
The reward ladder is the same from one half-season to the next; only the artwork changes. Here is what each tier unlocks.
- Gold — the half-season's free ranked costume
- Platinum — a nameplate frame
- Diamond — a second, more prestigious nameplate frame
- Grandmaster — Grandmaster Crest of Honor
- Celestial — Celestial Crest of Honor
- Eternity / One Above All — Eternity & One Above All Crest of Honor
- Top 500 — Top 500 Crest of Honor
For reference, the first half of Season 9 handed out the Jubilee — Crimson Crown costume at Gold, the Eye of Power frame at Platinum and All-Seeing Eye at Diamond. Season 9.5 has its own set: NetEase confirmed in Dev Talk Vol.12 that each half-season's Crests of Honor can only be earned inside that window. Whatever you do not unlock by September 11 is gone for good.
The two rules that catch players out
- Your peak rank counts, not your final rank. Hit Platinum, lose five in a row, drop back to Gold — the Platinum frame is still yours. That completely changes end-of-season strategy: push hard, even if you slide afterwards.
- The 10-match threshold is a hard gate. NetEase added it from the second half of Season 1 to stop reward farming. A Diamond account with only 8 games played this half-season walks away empty-handed.
The Season 10 reset: a six-division drop
In Dev Talk Vol.10, NetEase set the rule for all future seasons: six divisions at the start of a new season, four divisions at the mid-season split. With three divisions per tier, six divisions equals two full tiers. In practice:
- Diamond III ⇒ Gold III
- Platinum I ⇒ Silver I
- Grandmaster II ⇒ Platinum II
- Gold II ⇒ Bronze II
The developers noted they will tune this figure if needed, so treat six divisions as the standing rule, to be confirmed or adjusted in the official Season 10 notes. The reset applies automatically when Competitive reopens after launch maintenance.

An eleven-day plan to lock in your tier
Console: PS5, Xbox and crossplay
Marvel Rivals runs on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with crossplay enabled across platforms. Ranked rewards and the reset work identically on console: same tiers, same 10-match gate, same six-division drop. One practical note for controller players — the August 7 patch cut install size by roughly 20% on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, and about 7% on PlayStation 4. If you play ranked on console, lock your sensitivity and aim assist settings now: changing your controller setup three days before season end is the fastest way to lose the tier you were chasing.
End of season is the most profitable ranked window of the year: rewards are frozen permanently and the reset starts from your peak.
