The Marvel Rivals meta is barely moving before Season 10.5, so here is the tier list to decide who to play in ranked. It is based on the TimeSaver analysis and the official news; treat it as a community estimate, not an official ranking.
The meta at a glance before 10.5
The October 1 patch changed no heroes, and Season 10.5 is not expected to add a new character: the next heroes are due in Season 11. The meta rewards solid Strategists and Vanguards: three of the eight S-tier picks are supports. According to the sources we checked, a mid-season update does not touch your rank; confirm with the official notes at launch.
Tier list by role
Vanguard
- S : Peni Parker
- A : Angela, Hulk, Thor, The Hood
- Avoid : Emma Frost, Groot, Magneto
Duelist
- S : Storm, Magik, Gorr the God Butcher, Mister Fantastic
- A : Blade, Scarlet Witch
- Avoid : Phoenix, Squirrel Girl, The Punisher, Cyclops
Strategist
- S : Mantis, Ultron, Rocket Raccoon
- Avoid : Luna Snow, Jeff the Land Shark
An S-tier pick only helps if you can play it well: an A-tier hero you master beats an S-tier you are still learning. Also pick the role your team is missing.

How to climb with this tier list
Pick one hero per role from the S/A tiers, play them on repeat and review your losses. Solo queue players get the most from Mantis, Ultron or Peni Parker, which need little coordination. In a duo, Storm + Mantis or Magik + Peni Parker is very strong.
Marvel Rivals on PS5 and Xbox
The game supports crossplay. On console, aim assist favors projectile heroes and supports; tune your controller sensitivity before queueing ranked.
