Gorr the God Butcher is the only new hero in Season 10 — Butcher's Blasphemy, which went live on September 11, 2026 at 09:00 UTC after roughly two hours of maintenance. He is a high-mobility Duelist built to flank, summoning Black Berserkers and converting the damage they deal into Bonus Health. Here is the full kit, the combo you actually need, both team-ups and his hard counters, straight from the official patch notes.
What you need to know first
Gorr sits at 350 HP with a difficulty rating of 4 stars out of 5. His entire game plan is one idea repeated well: drop Black Berserkers, then use them as teleport anchors. Every point of damage a summon deals comes back to Gorr as Bonus Health, which turns a well-prepared engage into a huge temporary health pool — and a careless one into a free kill behind enemy lines.
Gorr's full ability kit
- All-Black (LMB) — unleash a rapid combo of up to 4 strikes with All-Black the Necrosword.
- Necro-Power (RMB) — charge and launch a symbiote mass forward. Hitting an enemy Slows them and teleports nearby Black Berserkers onto them, or spawns a new one. Arriving Berserkers unleash a two-strike melee attack that Launches Up nearby enemies before reverting to ranged mode.
- Black Berserker (E) — lob a symbiote mass that spawns a Black Berserker on landing, immediately shooting the nearest enemy.
- Living Abyss (SHIFT) — surge forward as an Invincible symbiote mass. Leaves a Black Berserker behind, drives all active Berserkers into a Frenzied State, and manifests a Necroverse on landing that continuously damages trapped enemies and converts that damage into Bonus Health.
- Shadow Harvest (F) — warp to a selected Black Berserker, sacrificing it for Bonus Health equal to half its Health and triggering a symbiote explosion. Briefly unlocks Shadow Scythe, a piercing shockwave; All-Black then becomes a scythe for a set duration or 4 slashes.
- Twilight of the Gods (Q — Ultimate) — transform All-Black into the Annihilablade and instantly spawn a Berserker beside every enemy in range. While active, slashes deal devastating damage and Berserkers in range no longer expire, staying Frenzied.
- Symbiote Swarm (Passive) — Black Berserker damage grants Gorr Bonus Health, and defeating an enemy instantly spawns a Black Berserker at their location.
Both team-ups explained
- Ragnarok (with Hela) — base effect: morph All-Black into a scythe for a sweeping strike that damages and briefly Grounds nearby enemies, with the weapon staying in scythe form for a short duration. Enhanced with Hela: the scythe's range is expanded and every hit scatters symbiote fragments that grant Bonus Health to Gorr and nearby allies.
- Hive Mind (with Venom) — base effect: fire a Symbiote Claw forward that pierces enemies in its path, then retracts at max distance and Launches caught enemies toward Gorr. Enhanced with Venom: Black Berserkers get a slight Damage Boost and apply a Slow to enemies they strike.

The combo that actually wins fights
Living Abyss is an engage button, not an escape button. That is exactly why it leaves a Berserker behind at your starting point — that Berserker is your exit. Here is the sequence to drill.
The technical detail that separates good Gorr players from bad ones: Berserkers have a maximum teleport range toward your right click. Place the summon too close to the target and it jumps in, costing you your exit. Place it far enough back and it stays put as a guaranteed retreat.
How to counter Gorr
- Crowd control is the real answer: a stun or root landed before he triggers Shadow Harvest deletes his entire escape plan. Emma Frost's choke and Elsa Bloodstone's trap both do the job.
- Moon Knight punishes the Berserkers for free: Gorr naturally clusters with his summons, which is exactly what bouncing projectiles want.
- Never chase a disengaging Gorr. He warps to a Berserker parked in safety while you walk alone into his Necroverse.
- Clear Berserkers the moment they land. Every point of damage they deal comes back to Gorr as Bonus Health.
Gorr on console: PS5, Xbox and controller
Marvel Rivals has a huge controller audience on PS5, PS4 and Xbox Series X|S, and Gorr translates well to a pad: his kit is movement and melee, far less aim-intensive than a hitscan Duelist. Two things still need attention. First, turn rate — you need it high enough to chain All-Black strikes right after a Shadow Harvest warp. Second, screen readability: during Twilight of the Gods the area fills with Berserkers and it gets easy to lose the real target. If you play console ranked, review your settings before forcing the pick — our controller settings and aim assist guide walks through every slider.
Season 10: battle pass, event and rewards
Season 10 also brings the The Godbomb battle pass with 10 brand-new costume sets, headlined by White Fox — Cosmic Kumiho, Captain America — Astral Aegis and Loki — The Chronicler. The seasonal story event The Tetrameron puts you alongside Loki the Chronicler for a mission chain with substantial rewards, and the Season 10.0 Gold-tier rank reward is fittingly the Gorr the God Butcher — Gods' Graveyard costume. On the esports side, Marvel Rivals IGNITE Series Stage 2 drops start rolling out on September 17, 2026 at 09:00 UTC, with the Cyclops — Will of Galacta costume earned through accumulated watch time.

Gorr rewards map reading far more than raw aim: played properly he isolates a Strategist, banks their damage back as Bonus Health and leaves before the answer arrives. Played badly, he dies alone behind the enemy line.
