There are no damage number changes here, but one Team-Up fix quietly removes a survivability edge that was skewing Vanguard duels in ranked, and the Endgame Encore event opens alongside it. The patch in 30 seconds
No rework, no new hero: this is a cleanup patch. But one of the fixes — the Doctor Strange one — removes a concrete in-game advantage that had been live since Season 9.5. Hero fixes: what actually changes in game
- Doctor Strange — Shield of the Seraphim: instant full shield restore via the Psionic Vortex Team-Up while its enhanced effect was active ⇒ removed, regeneration is back to normal.
- Angela — visual effects: broken VFX after being defeated while using Odin's Unacknowledged Team-Up ⇒ fixed.
- Scarlet Witch & Doctor Strange — Team-Up showcase video: clip failing to play ⇒ fixed.
- Cloak & Dagger — Coastal Couple, Sunset Shores chroma: jagged textures ⇒ cleaned up.
- Scarlet Witch — Floral Tide emote: VFX placement offset ⇒ fixed.
Doctor Strange: why this fix matters
On paper it reads as a bugfix line. In practice, the Psionic Vortex loop plus an instant shield reset let Strange absorb two engagements back to back with no punish window. That was part of why he held a win rate around 52% on tracking sites in Season 9.5 despite a modest pick rate. Expect to manage your shield far more carefully now: drop it earlier, back off, and let natural regeneration do its job before you re-tank the point.
Endgame Encore: the Infinity Saga tab and the 20% coupon

Console: crossplay, separate ranked pools and patch impact
Marvel Rivals runs on PC, PS5, PS4 and Xbox Series X|S, and the August 27 patch applies everywhere without maintenance. Key point for console players: crossplay is on in casual and custom matches, but ranked stays separated — PC players only face PC players, while PS5 and Xbox share a competitive pool. Ranks and stats are stored per platform. In practice the indirect Doctor Strange nerf will be felt faster on PC, where punish windows are tighter; on controller, the main takeaway is to drop the shield earlier since a free reset is no longer on the table.
Season 10 is next, on September 11
