NetEase Games and Marvel Games used San Diego Comic-Con 2026 to reveal the next chapter of Marvel Rivals' Path to Doomsday event: a brand-new PvE mode built around Avengers: Age of Ultron. It's set to go live on July 30, 2026, alongside a wave of MCU-themed skins. Here's everything confirmed so far — sources: Noisy Pixel and Khel Now.
What's changing on July 30: the short version
For the first time in the Path to Doomsday storyline, Marvel Rivals is swapping the 1v6 format used in the previous Loki event for pure co-op PvE. Instead of fighting other players, you team up with them to push back Ultron's robotic invasion. NetEase is calling it Chapter 2 of Path to Doomsday, a narrative arc set to culminate in December with Avengers: Doomsday content.
Path to Doomsday – Age of Ultron: how it works
The official setup
NetEase's teaser sums it up in one line: "The Ultron Virus has breached Avengers Tower, corrupting F.R.I.D.A.Y. and unleashing a relentless swarm of sentries upon our heroes!" You'll play as the Avengers, clearing the tower floor by floor before a final showdown in Ultron's Data Space.
What we know so far
- Format: cooperative PvE (no more 1v6, unlike the Loki event)
- Exclusive map: Avengers Tower, built specifically for this mode — standard modes like Convoy won't run on it
- Goal: fight through waves of Ultron's sentries across the tower and into the Data Space
- Expected launch: July 30, 2026 around 3 AM PT / 6 AM ET / 11 AM BST — timing based on early press estimates, pending official patch notes
- What's next: Avengers: Doomsday content is confirmed for December 2026, with no further details yet
4 new MCU skins are dropping too
Four movie-inspired costumes are joining the shop alongside the new mode:
- Spider-Man — a suit pulled straight from Spider-Man: Brand New Day (out in theaters the same day)
- Hulk — a Smart Hulk look, also tied to Spider-Man: Brand New Day
- Scarlet Witch — a movie-accurate Avengers: Age of Ultron costume
- Winter Soldier — inspired by Captain America: The Winter Soldier
According to outlets covering the reveal, all four skins hit the shop as early as July 27, ahead of the PvE mode's full launch. A movie-accurate Ultron bundle is also part of the drop. Separately, the new Luna Snow "Carmine Cassette" costume has already been live since July 24 and runs through August 21 at 2 AM UTC.

PS5 and Xbox: are consoles covered?
Marvel Rivals stays fully crossplay across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S — the Age of Ultron mode and every new skin launch on all platforms at the same time, with no platform exclusivity. Ranked queues still separate keyboard/mouse from controller input depending on your settings, worth keeping in mind if you lean on aim assist in competitive.
Ignite Series and what's next: Season 10 rumors
This week also brings the Marvel Rivals Ignite Series Mid-Season Finals on the esports side. On the leak front, several datamines point to a Season 10 launch around September 8, 2026, adding Gorr the God Butcher and Nightcrawler to the roster — treat that as speculation until NetEase confirms anything officially.
