The best support in Marvel Rivals is the single role that decides most Season 10 lobbies. A solo Strategist on form prints more win equity than a flashy Duelist, especially from Gold up, where fights are won on cooldown trades rather than aim. This tier list ranks every Strategist in the current meta, map by map, patch by patch: who to lock first, who to flex into, and who to leave for off-nights.
How we rank the best support in Marvel Rivals
We weight three measurable things: healing output per minute at mid-rank play, cooldown value inside a 6v6 kit, and ultimate win-fight percentage. We then correct for team-dependency — a Strategist whose kit only shines next to a dive Vanguard is weaker in solo queue than one who stabilizes any composition. Season 10's Godbomb map rotation, the Scarlet Witch rework and Gorr's arrival all shift which Strategists are easier to run, and the tiers below are updated for that patch.
- Raw sustain: how much HP the hero keeps on the team per fight.
- Peel tools: hard CC, immortality windows, cleanses, shields.
- Mobility: can they survive a dive without burning a cooldown they needed for the fight?
- Damage floor: a Strategist who cannot threaten a Duelist loses 1v1s on the backline.
- Ult economy: percentage of fights their ultimate meaningfully swings.
S-Tier Strategists: the picks that carry
Luna Snow
Luna Snow is still the ceiling pick for ranked. Her burst-heal notes melt dive damage, her damage output reaches Duelist-tier once she has rhythm, and Fate of Both Worlds remains the strongest win-the-fight button a Strategist has — it charges faster than most ultimates and keeps her near-immortal while active. She stays S-tier because nothing about her Season 10 numbers has been cut below the usability threshold.
- Burst healing scales with her damage up-time, so she rewards aim.
- Her ult cancels most enemy ultimates by denying the kill window.
- Weakness: hard-countered by sustained dive — one Spider-Man or Psylocke on her will drain her cooldowns.
- Pair her with a Vanguard that can body-block for peel (Doctor Strange, Thor, Peni Parker).
Mantis
Mantis is the most reliable S-tier Strategist in the game. Her Life Energy orbs offer consistent main-heal throughput, her Sleep sidearm shuts down a flanker on reaction, and her Soul Resurgence ult doubles damage and healing for the whole team. She is harder to punish than Luna because she can self-sustain through her Life Orb passive, which means solo-queue players climb faster on her even when the Vanguard is misplaying.
- Sleep is the strongest single-target counter to flankers in the game.
- Her ult is a team-wide damage amp — pairs natively with Hela, Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch.
- Weakness: no burst heal — a one-shot kill cannot be reversed.
- Low skill floor, high ceiling: safe first pick to lock on any map.
A-Tier Strategists: strong in the right hands
Invisible Woman
Invisible Woman is the most complete support kit in Marvel Rivals when the player can juggle her shield, her force pull and her orb heal. In Season 10 she replaces Luna as the first lock on dive-heavy maps because her shield saves a cornered Vanguard that Luna's ult cannot reach in time. Her ceiling is enormous; her floor is low — she is a bad coin-flip pick in solo queue below Platinum.
- Her shield is the only hard peel tool a Strategist currently has.
- Ultimate heals and damages at the same time — one of the few true team-wide Strategist ults.
- Weakness: her kit demands kiting lanes; brawl comps smother her.
- Lock her in on Yggsgard, Shin-Shibuya and Tokyo 2099.
Loki
Loki is the utility king. His clones double his healing bursts, his Regenerative Rune cleanses sleeps and stuns, and his copy-ultimate ability lets him replay an enemy's game-ending button — second only to Doctor Strange for timing-based plays. Season 10 tweaks left his base numbers untouched but weakened one of his best copy targets (Scarlet Witch's new ult), which drops him half a tier below the S picks.
- Three clones equal three healing instances per button press.
- Rune of cleansing removes sleep, hack, freeze and stun on the whole team.
- Weakness: dies in a direct 1v1 against most Duelists.
- Needs a brawl-pace comp — he is weak alone against dive.
B-Tier Strategists: viable but team-dependent
Adam Warlock
Adam Warlock is still the only Strategist with a true team-wide resurrect. The problem in Season 10 is pace: fights end faster than they used to, and his ult often lands after the fight is already lost. He shines in coordinated 6-stacks and is almost unplayable in solo queue below Diamond. His Soul Bond is still worth the pick on long-sightline maps like Hall of Djalia and Odin's Vault.
Cloak & Dagger
Cloak and Dagger split their kit between a brawl-heal form and a flank-damage form. The problem is that neither half is top-tier in Season 10 — Dagger's healing is below Mantis's, and Cloak's damage is below any Duelist's. They remain a comfortable off-pick when you want a flex Strategist who can swap pressure mid-fight, but no map in the current rotation forces them to be the first lock.
Rocket Raccoon
Rocket's res wrench is the only cooldown-based revive in the game, and his jetpack lets him escape dives that would delete a stationary Strategist. His main-heal numbers remain below Mantis and Luna, so he caps lower, but he is the single most consistent pick for a solo-queue Strategist who refuses to run with a bad Vanguard: he survives on his own and his B.R.B. drone covers teammates that your main healer cannot reach.
Niche and situational — C-Tier
Jeff the Land Shark
Jeff is a one-trick pony. His ult is unmatched when it eats a Vanguard off the point, but every other part of his kit is below meta. He has the lowest sustained healing in the Strategist pool and his small hit-box does not compensate for his low damage output. Fun in Quick Match, risky in Competitive above Gold 3.
Ultron
Ultron rewards heavy practice. His flying main-heal rework in Season 10 fixed earlier survivability problems, but his healing-per-second curve still trails the S picks. If you have fifty hours on him specifically, he climbs; picking him blind without practice is the fastest way to lose rank-adjustment points below Platinum.
Best support pairings for Season 10
Running a two-Strategist pairing matters more than picking the single best hero. The strongest Season 10 pairings compound burst and sustain so that no single dive can collapse the backline:
- Luna Snow + Rocket Raccoon — burst and jet mobility, the hardest backline to dive.
- Mantis + Invisible Woman — brawl sustain that chains ults on cooldown.
- Loki + Mantis — clone healing stacks turn Mantis's ult into a team-wide 2x damage window.
- Luna Snow + Adam Warlock — ult-charge races; one of them always has a save ready.
How to climb with the best support in Marvel Rivals
Picking the right hero is maybe a third of the climb. The rest is positioning, ult tracking and target focus. If you consistently play a top-two Strategist and still do not climb, that is a positioning gap, not a hero-choice gap. Honest coaching or an occasional Marvel Rivals rank boost are the two faster paths; everything else is time on the role.
- Shadow your Vanguard until the first death, then reset to a safe healing angle.
- Track the enemy Duelist's cooldowns, not your teammates' — your deaths come from the dive, not from in-fight pressure.
- Call out your own ult charge aggressively; Strategist ults chain better than any other role's.
- Keep two Vanguard-adjacent angles memorised per map so you never run to the same corner twice.
