Who is the best duelist in Marvel Rivals right now?
If you had to pick one duelist and climb ranked with them in Season 10, the shortlist is short: Magik, Gorr the God Butcher and Storm. All three sit above a 54% win rate at Diamond and above, they punish the current dive-heavy meta, and they solve two problems at once — high solo damage and a real answer to flying dive threats. If you want the fastest version of the answer, that is it.

The Season 10 duelist tier list, sorted by win rate
The tier list below merges Diamond+ win-rate data from Counterwatch.gg with the meta reads published on Marvel Rivals GG. Season 10 stabilised roughly three weeks after the Godbomb patch, so these numbers reflect the state of the ladder once the panic picks calmed down and pros settled into stable comps.
S-tier duelists
- Magik — 55.9% win rate. Sword flurries and Stepping Discs turn her into a self-peeling brawler; she trades better than any other melee duelist in the game and her ult still ends teamfights.
- Gorr the God Butcher — 55.7% win rate. The Season 10 arrival hit the ground running: high HP pool, heavy melee combo, and an ult that removes tanks from the fight in seconds when the enemy support has no defensive cooldowns.
- Storm — 54.9% win rate. Post-buff Storm rules the sky, has cheap crowd control, and her ult is the fastest team-wipe answer to a Vanguard-heavy stall.
A-tier duelists
- Hela — 52.2%. Long-range hit-scan, gigantic ult radius, still the anti-dive queen on payload defence.
- Scarlet Witch — 52.0%. The Season 10 rework kept her ult oppressive at low elos while raising her skill floor. Playable everywhere; dominant under Gold.
- Blade — 51.8%. Ranged shooter with self-sustain. His true damage in ult still shreds Vanguards.
- Iron Fist — 51.8%. Solo carry against low-mobility supports; he lives and dies by your ability to bait cooldowns before diving.
- Daredevil — 51.6%. Sniper-brawler hybrid whose radar reveal is oppressive in coordinated queues.
B-tier duelists
- Mister Fantastic — 51.2%
- Iron Man — 51.2%
- Spider-Man — 51.0%
- Black Cat — 50.9%
- Black Panther — 50.9%
- Psylocke — 50.1%
B-tier heroes are perfectly viable one-tricks, especially into specific matchups. If you already have hundreds of hours on Spider-Man or Black Panther, keep playing them — the win-rate gap with an S-tier pick is around 5%, which one clean flank replaces.
C-tier and below
- C-tier (49–49.9%): Winter Soldier, Star-Lord, Human Torch, Elsa Bloodstone, Black Widow — none broken, all beatable by an S-tier counterpart in even hands.
- D-tier (47.8–48.4%): Wolverine, Hawkeye, Deadpool, Moon Knight — pocket picks for very specific comps, otherwise a handicap.
- F-tier (44.9–46.8%): Namor, Cyclops, The Punisher, Squirrel Girl, Phoenix — do not first-pick in ranked, especially above Platinum.
How each S-tier duelist wins its fights
Magik — the safest carry pick
Magik does two things no other duelist does at the same time. First, her Umbral Incursion plus Stepping Discs kit lets her reset her own position after every kill attempt, so she rarely gets punished for greedy dives. Second, her Darkchild ult keeps working when a support is left alive — the sword swings still deal serious damage per hit — where Iron Fist or Wolverine simply die to a fed Adam Warlock revive.
The reason she is the safest carry pick in Season 10 is exactly that reset. You are trading with a healer buffer built in, and every mistake costs a cooldown instead of a life.
Gorr the God Butcher — the tank remover
Gorr shipped with the September 11 Godbomb patch and his kit is designed to punish the double-Vanguard meta that dominated the first half of the year. His All-Black the Necrosword scales its damage against high-HP targets, and his ult reduces enemy team healing received inside the zone. The result: two tanks and one healer standing inside the Necrosword ult typically fall before their support ult can respond.
Storm — the anti-dive answer
Storm's post-buff numbers are a rare case of Blizzard-tier overtuning. Her wind projectile travels faster, her chain damage no longer falls off with distance, and Omega Hurricane pulls Spider-Man, Iron Fist and Black Panther out of position on demand. She is what every ladder wanted against dive comps in Season 9, and she still holds 54.9% win rate three weeks after her buffs went live.
Best duelist by role or squad need
Best duelist for solo queue
Magik. The reset kit rewards you for outplaying instead of relying on your team, and her lane pressure on the flanks does not need a call-out to convert. Iron Fist and Spider-Man are stronger in stacks, weaker solo.
Best duelist for a 6-stack
Gorr into a Rocket Raccoon plus Cloak & Dagger backline. The three-piece synergy blows up the enemy support in one Necrosword rotation and gives your team a permanent numbers advantage. The Team-Up bonus with Thor also gives Gorr extra armour, which turns him from bruiser into semi-tank.
Best duelist against a dive team
Storm or Hela. Storm because Omega Hurricane cancels Spider-Man webs and Iron Fist Q on cast, Hela because her scoped shots outrange every dive threat and her ult clears a rooftop instantly. Never lock Squirrel Girl or Deadpool into a dive comp: you will spend the game on your back line waiting to die.
Best duelist for beginners
Scarlet Witch under Gold, The Punisher above. Scarlet Witch's chaos beam locks on with almost no aim requirement — great for players still learning tracking. Once your tracking is solid, The Punisher gives you the same damage output with hitscan weapons and a much higher skill ceiling.
Best duelist by map or objective
Payload maps (Yggsgard, Tokyo 2099)
Hela and Storm. Long sight lines reward hit-scan; Storm's ult clears the payload of clumped defenders faster than any other duelist ult.
Domination maps (Hydra Base, Klyntar)
Magik and Gorr. Fast rotations plus point-clearing ults win short domination fights, and both heroes can 1v1 a lone contester.
Convergence maps (Empire of Eternal Night)
Iron Man and Storm. Vertical maps make flying duelists dominant; Storm gets bonus value from the sky-corridor sight lines.

How this tier list is built
We rank duelists on three factors, in this order: win rate at Diamond and above (Counterwatch.gg, 30-day rolling window), expert consensus across pro streams and creator tier lists (Necros, KarQ, Awkward), and versatility — a hero that only works in one comp is downgraded even if the win rate is high.
Metrics below Diamond diverge sharply: mechanically hard heroes like Spider-Man or Black Panther sit at 46-47% in Bronze and Silver but climb above 52% at Grandmaster. Everything above assumes you are already in the top 20% of the ladder or aiming for it.
Should you play the meta or a comfort pick?
Play the meta for five games out of every ten in ranked, and comfort for the rest. Locking Magik or Gorr into every game with 400 hours on Wolverine will lose you more games than a suboptimal pick you know inside out. The line to draw: your comfort pick becomes a handicap once its Diamond+ win rate falls below 47%. Below that, the meta gap outweighs the mastery gap.
The other reason to know the meta cold: banning. Season 10 hero bans are on above Emerald, and locking Magik, Gorr or Storm out of the enemy team is often worth more than a random ban on a support you don't want to face.
Climb faster with the right duelist
Picking a strong duelist is the easiest 5% of win rate you will ever gain. If you want the other 25% — target selection, positioning, ult economy — a coach or booster who mains duelists will save you months of grinding. Our Marvel Rivals rank boost team is duelist-heavy for exactly this reason: 8 of our 12 top-500 boosters main a Season 10 S-tier duelist.
